South Africa - the location of the FOSS4G conference this year. I have 
signed up to the Africa osgeo email list - and even for Africa the 
conference does not seem to be well publicized or organized. Indeed when 
I asked I had a couple people asking me what it was ...

That said in the last couple of weeks I have found that several of my 
friends are going; so the open source projects I work with uDig, 
GeoTools and GeoServer will be well represented.

Refractions in general has not made any plans to attend.

That is good to know - I would love to go I just cannot justify it very 
well. As for being really late -  the deadlines are coming up (the 
workshop one already passed!)
