There is not any wrong in your interactions, the problem is that uDig-RC14 and 
Axios Extension are not compatibles, then the plugin fails.

Now we are working in new release of es.axios.extensions for uDig RC14 you can 
find a build of milestone m3 of our development environment in

Download section 
"Development 0.2.0-x for uDig-rc14"

this release is in testing phase and it has problem with the Editing tools 
like trim, split. But the good new for you is that the Spatial Operations 
work well.
