Yep, the new version that I just downloaded and installed starts smootly.

However the NullpointerException when closing the into is still there.

Additionally, when I tried to create an empty map, udig would work forever, again. Just after a new start it would show the map and allow to add data to it. The three sample shapefile layers I added were shown correctly.

After a second restart the same layers would already be on the map and would be marked as red and would not load. Seems to be a path problem, see screenshot.

This is my last test tonight, got other things to do...
