[udig-devel] Testing RC14 and PostGIS

I am stuck on the PostGIS section of walkthrough 1....

1. I can make it through the wizard; to the Resource Selection page.
2. The resource selection page displays all the right information so it 
is connecting just fine
3. After selecting bc_hosptials and bc_municipality pressing *Finish* 
hangs with the following message:
  Validating postgis.jdbc:///demo-bc/public

After failing this way (and pressing CANCEL), an entry is added to the 
catalog that is non functioning (when opened it says Searching for 
contents...).
Application gradually slows down, what is the bet threads are stuck 
waiting on a slow internet connection? Still never had it take minuets 
before....

PS. Left the machine alone for a while; came back and the layers had 
been added (twice!) and the catalog view had clued in ... actually 
performance drawing seems fine. Must of been a problem brought on by 
waking up the database for the first time.
