[udig-devel] Map layout, needed

Hello, 
I have a question: I am working on my thesis and I need to layout a map and introduce it into my word file to make the analysis. I tried to use print tool but without real success. Does somebody have an idea, is there any other powerful tool that I can use? And after the layout, how can I import it into my word file?
