Export the current layer to a world + image file.
Current implementation exports to any number of maps to an equal number of files.  The size of the image can be specified.  Many formats are supported including JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP and PDF.  

If PDF is the export then it can't be used as a referenced image but it does allow different page sizes to be chosen and landscape VS profile pages.
