[udig-devel] Getting started with uDig

You are correct the walkthough instructions are focused on Windows.

We have been working on a page here about running uDig:

It includes some information about the problems opening a browser (you 
need a copy of Mozilla installed).

If you are just running udig from a zip file you will need to set up 
your copy of Java with JAI. I am not sure if you linux download included 
a copy of Java or not? We better wait for someone else to answer this 
email before asking you to mess around with JAI.

The only instructions I found on the web site were for developers and 
looked a little out of date:

I think our username/password for the database changed.
