[udig-devel] Creating a new empty feature layer

Hi,

I wonder if it's possible to create a new empty shape/feature-layer
without any data in it using the API. I didn't find this feature in
uDig itself (seems that just already existing layers can be loaded but
no empty ones).

I want to write a plugin that gives the possibility to define new
point data on a layer, holding additional information about places.
