Fire up an instance of geoserver.  Go to Layer -> Add WMS and use the WFS capabilities URL to add the layer: http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wfs/getcapabilities . Add in a layer
Now go back to Layer -> Add WFS this time, and use the same capabilities URL.  Add the same layer to the map as a WFS this time.  Render fails due to missing/bad/whoknows projection/extent information.
