To improve uDig should be implemented a mapfile generator from map generated on screen. I think it is good idea becasue there is no such program exept qgis (but there is bug and it's dosn't work smoothly). It enhance value of uDig for me and some other users. If there will be in uDig layers style editor like in ArcGiS related with mapfile generator it would be great advantage.
