Andy / Cory -

Of course I'm interested in help! The plugin is currently part of the
community SVN under http://svn.geotools.org/udig/community/dan

Where I'd like to take the plugin:

    - Support more data formats (ie Garmin, Magellan, Tom Tom?)
    - For file import, add preview capability for attributes (similar to
excel Data to Columns type of idea)
    - Re-package the plug-in to read directly from a serial port/usb to
populate the map layer in real-time with the position (vis a vis a tracking
layer)
    - Advertise new data features upon receving a new
    - Fix the issue of exporting to a shape file (most useful for importing
data files), it looks like a trivial problem but i've got o upgrade my
eclipse to the latest

And any other ideas that you've got are welcome!

This is open source :) Collaboration is what it is all about! The
first cut of the plug-in is completed (the google summer of code is done
now).

Dan -- what is your schedule looking like and what are you scheming up
for the future of your plugin? With a little QA we can add it to the
update site for uDig sometime after the uDig 1.1.0 release (next month).

Cheers,
Cory.
