Some people have problems with the "advanced" behaviour of tools, they would rather that the tools just do what they advertise.  Other people, like having the advanced behavior.  As a compromise I'm going to make a preference so that you can turn on advanced behaviour and also a hotkey so that it can be toggled on and off.
