[udig-devel] Re: How to add an Oracle Spatial layer?

Hi,

Thanks Jesse for fixing the wizard. I must have looked while the
nightly build was still in progress as the most recent build I could
find was the 3rd May :-( So I went ahead and after a bit of fiddling
built it from the subversion repository.

Anyway, the wizard now works and it looks like I am able to connect to
the database instance, however now I've found what looks like a new problem.

I am unable to select a schema as the "Schema" combo box is unpopulated
and manually entering text into it disables the "next" button.
Unfortunately I need to be able to add layers from multiple schemas :-(

If I leave the Schema box alone and click on next I end up with an empty
Resource Selection screen. How does uDig locate tables with a geometry
attribute? Also, what I really need to do at the moment is display the
results of a select query that returns a geometry attribute. In theory
is this currently possible?

If you want I can whip up instructions on how to configure JAI and the
necessary Eclipse plugins without the need for the custom
eclipse_jre.zip and extras.zip as detailed on
http://udig.refractions.net/confluence/display/UDIG/Project+Quickstart -
or at least I haven't come across any problems yet ;-)

Cheers,
John
