Postgis wizard appears to freeze loading layers

When using the postgis wizard i connected to the postgis database and selected the tables that i wished to load and selected finish.  The wizzard appeared to freeze and nothing appeared to happen.  I was able to select more layers and the Finish buttonwas enabled again. Once agin I selected finish and nothing happenned.  Approximately ten minutes later the layers loaded after i had gone off and done other thins including adding other layers to my map.  The tables i attempted to load were very small.
