[udig-devel] ImageIO-GDAL integration

Dear Mr Ramsey.

I have almost finished to write the report on swig concepts and theoretics
which also contains a brief section with a practical example of use.

Meanwhile I have written an ImageIO plugin which support HDF4 format using
GDAL library.
Unfortunately, some metadata structures are not completely exported by the
GDAL library.
Thus the HDF4 ImageIO plugin will suffer of some limitations with Metadata
management.

During this process, the general ImageIO plugin framework was designed but
it needs some tuning.

Finally, I'm starting to analyze the ECW format which may be a good example
to build another plugin.


All code will be soon uploaded after full test and errors debugging
operations will completed.
