Yes! I've been puttering away on a tutorial on how to port a datastore 
to uDig:

It is a crude example of how to read from a text file containing 
coordinates and hooking it into the import wizard.  It is incomplete, 
but it gets the point across and functions well enough to draw those 
points on your map.   Feedback is welcome :)
